Have you checked to see what is causing the VIP to go offline? If the problem was not the load balancer but a network issue replacing it wont fix the problem but just add to the cost.
The most common problem that causes a VIP to go offline is failure of the load balancer to be able to communicate with the real servers behind it. Are the health monitors configured properly? Put a packet sniffer between the load balancer and the real servers and check that they are communicating ok and youre not seeing packet drops or excessive resets.
Are you doing SSL off-loading if so the load balancer may be overwhelm in which case you will need a replacement with a dedicated SSL accelerator. Also analyze your traffic through put to make sure your load balancer choice can handle the traffic demand running through it.
