I currently have two locations connected by a point to point T3 bridge. On one end is a data center with our internet connection (T3), Router, firewall, IPS and production web, app and DB servers. On the other end is our office, with about 50 users, our file servers, development servers, email and other internal servers. Users go across the P2P T3 to get out to the internet, and developers access the web/DB servers the same way. There are DC's at both ends. The network is a single class C. The P2P T3 is connected using inexpensive T3 bridges. The servers are all on the internal network.
I am wondering if I should be using routers on either end of the T3 to stop broadcasts and other unnecessary traffic from going across the T3. I don't want to buy $10k routers like 3800's and install T3 cards, I'd rather put them in front of the bridges...
Everything works now, I am just thinking about performance/security enhancements.
