just installed a new VOIP phone system with a fax server. Problem is most of our old analog fax machines lost their numbers when we cut over the PRI. But with new phone system each person has their own DID that doubles as their fax number and delivers faxes to their e-mail. Problem is there are a few numbers that they have had for many years and now all those faxes are getting dumped into my catch all box. So what i need to do, is associate each fax number with a exchange mailbox. And what i need it to do is automatically forward to a distrobution list. That list is basically the people that normally recieved faxes on that number...how can i set the mailbox up to do this automatically?
Are the mailboxes for the individual fax numbers already created? Also, do you need to store a copy of the email or just forward it to the appropriate people?
If the mailboxes have not been created already and you just need to forward messages as they come in, you can create a new distribution group for each fax number, and set the email address for the distribution group accordingly. Then set the members to be the people who need to receive the "fax". This way the message will come in and be distributed automatically to the appropriate people.
I've used this to handle web requests which need to go to 3 people and a public folder automatically.
