About Latency

Tags: Latency , TCP Latency , Throughput
Dear All,

I have some confusion about Latency, can you help me to understand it better.

Latency is basically the delay in which the Packet is send from One Source to Destination. So when i do a Ping Test the Latency i get is RTT Right? Means it is the Delay from when a Packet is Send from the Source and a Ack received from the Destination(means 2 way Delay is calculated).

How do i Calculate a UDP Delay? What would be the Latency when i download a FIle, means the packet is just send one way.

Regards
Hari
