Well if you want each of those 2,000 connections to be able to download 5,000 bytes in 1 second,
2000 x 5000 = 10,000,000
then you need to add some overhead, say 15%, which brings you to about 11,500,000. So somewhere just over 10Mbps.
Basically it is:
(a x b / c) * 1.15 = d
where
a = number of transfers
b = average bytes per transfer
c = the maximum amount of time you want each transfer to take place
d = bandwidth required
1.15 adds the 15% overhead.
