Creating VLAN on a single HP 2650 switch and routing

I have created VLAN on HP 2650 Switch. Our default network is 172.50.200.0/21. The devices on this new VLAN will be manually assigned addresses in 172.50.192.0/21 space. The switch has 172.50.200.71/21 address on LAN and 172.50.192.1/21 on VLAN side. Routing option is enabled in the switch. I am trying to route traffic between the two networks without use of a router as this switch has routing capabilities. At the moment the devices on VLAN are not able to ping local LAN and vice versa. Am I missing something?
