Cannot logon to Windows 2000 Pro machine after removing Domain from local PC within My Computer

Hi,  We took the Windows 2003 server out of the picture purposely and tried to set up a previously connected Win 2000 Pro PC straight to a little router.  While logged on as the local user (not as administrator) the Domain was removed from the local machine.  It was replaced with a new Workgroup name.  I believe this was done through "My Computer"    The current problem is that we cannot logon to the pc as either the local user or administrator.  There is no drop down box available for a domain anymore even when clicking on the "options" screen on startup.   It appears that it expects a domain to still be entered but there is no way of putting a domain name in any more.  We cannot get past this point and cannot log on to the machine at all.

I tried every option in safe mode ,hoping that i could get it to get past the logon screen.

Any ideas what to do?
