SolarWinds Orion - How to minimize alerts on chained network
Hi all,
I'm working with SolarWinds Orion and have been tasked with reconfiguring the alerting. The challenge is to minimize alerts on devices which are "down line" from a failure.
Suppose we have devices like this:
Orion-----A---------B-----
If we're monitoring all devices, and B fails, then I DON'T want to be alerted that C, D, and E are unreachable, because, B is down, so they're obviously unreachable from Orion.
How can I configure Orion to alert only on B, and not also on C D and E - while minimizing configuration.

Hi,
I think this is only possible if you have a redundant link from CDE to Orion but if you have a single link which is necessarily passing through B and it is the single point of failure then it is not possible. You can also recheck it with Orion people;
