Hi All,
Right now i am staring to learn Network Management tool HPOV. I have some basic doubts.
- When we say SNMP Polling, does it mean the manager will poll the cisco router agent and retrive all the Data from the router MIB? Does HPOV also retrieve all the MIB data from teh agent? Or is there a way in HPOV we can say what are the data to check for?
- Right now we are planning to monitor a BGP Peer Status from HPOV. Can i make HPOV to do a Poll a device to get the BGP MIB data and then send out alarm only when the MIB Return value is what i expected?
- Also should i configure the SNMP traps command in the cisco router for the HPOV to poll the specific MIB in the agent?
