Delivery of this message will be attempted until 12/23/2007 5:14:39 PM (GMT-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada). Microsoft Exchange will notify you if the message can't be delivered by that time.

Here is the rest of the error message. I thought we were blacklisted I checked and we are not. Thanks

Still sounds like you are blacklisted, by Comcast.

How did you check that you were not on Comcast's blacklist?  Did you contact them?  

You are aware that they maintain thier own blacklist,and as far as I know you can't check it or access it unless you are actually on comcasts network.

There are couple options.  To check

1.  http://www.dnsstuff.com and enter your domain in the appropriate field

Check with your ISP (comcast) if the reverse PTR records are setup correctly.  What is your domain name that you fear is blacklisted?  Send us your domain name and/or public IP address.

Hi,

I worked for a web hosting company and blacklisting was a problem which used to be normal case with clients. I guess you need to ask your hosting company to get your domain unblocked by comcast as they donn listen to individuals but if your hosting company says so then they will immediately remove it from blacklist

Well I have found out that our company is not black listed. Is there another possible solution?

When emailing from HLDI to Comcast the server tries to send the mail, however it gets delivered 4 to 8 hrs later. Smoe of the time it will not get delivered at all.
here is another error message: Delivery is delayed to these recipients or distribution lists:

Subject: test

This message has not yet been delivered. Microsoft Exchange will continue to try delivering the message on your behalf.

Delivery of this message will be attempted until 12/28/2007 4:05:24 PM (GMT-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada). Microsoft Exchange will notify you if the message can't be delivered by that time.

It still has not been delivered if you notice the time stamp. I also have not recieved a notification from our server.

as mentioned work with Comcast.  you probably don't have correct reverse PTR record set wit them.  also you may have to create a secondary SMTP virtual server in ESM for these troubled domain.

I just had this problem and it was because we were using opendns with content blocking turned on.  However with that when smtp server would go to do a dns lookup it would error out.  So I just changed out transport server to do external dns lookups and switched them to At&t/Layer 3 dns ips.
4.2.2.1, 4.2.2.2, 4.2.2.3, 4.2.2.4, 4.2.2.5, 4.2.2.6

I had this problem with a new Exchange 2010 installation.  Exchange 2010 only reports that the message is delayed and does not give any additional information about the failure.  To get the Comcast failure code, first do a MX DNS lookup then telnet to that IP address and port 25.  In my case, Comcast reported a DNS Blacklist code which corresponded to TrendMicro's BL.
