117kbps out towards the thin client?
That's not an extremely high amount of traffic [if the thin client is in use] to be receiving.. Up to 256kbps may in fact be expected to be received from the terminal
server, under various circumstances, for most types of thin clients.
If 117 kilobits is an issue, you need to upgrade the LAN hardware, to at least 100 megabit FastEthernet, so such tiny amounts of traffic on your LAN won't be an issue....
As for determining the traffic composition, I would say best bet is to get wireshark on a laptop, setup a port on your switch for monitoring/mirroring/or SPAN
plug the laptop in, and start using wireshark to capture traffic.
