Browse All TopicsProblem receiving POP email via Groupwise 6.0 (Small Business Netware 6.0). Both Netware and GW are patched to the latest vs and were before this problem started). Desktops are XP Pro SP2 and latest patches and XP firewall turned off. Netware server has no disk capacity issues.
Worked fine for about 3 years then started to have sporadic issues receiving email via Outlook (2000 and 2003 mixed users).
Some users would not receive any mail for several days, others extremely slow receipt and others worked fine. The users affected would vary with no apparent pattern. The latest issue is still the slow receipt but 2 users only receive email every other day (in general but days vary at times) and only receive exactly 100 email each time which are generally from a previous day. I have researched this problem on the web in general and on Novell's site and have exhausted other resources with associates, etc.
Any help or guidance will be greatly appreciated.

In ConsoleOne right click on the GWIA object and select Properties. Go to the access control tab. Double click on default class of service (unless you have created your own class of service groups). Select the POP 3 tab. From this screen you can change the maximum number of messages to download. The max value is 1000.

Do the user's mailboxes have size limits assigned? Has OutLook been told to wait at least 5 minutes between check for new mail? Have the basic GroupWise database sanity checks been run?
