Server GUI console not loading
The GUI console is not loading correctly. When STARTX is loaded at the console prompt, it displays a grey screen but nothing more. On the console screen, it receive the following messages:
java: Class com.novell.awt.nawt.taskba
java: Class SetBG exited with status 1

It's possible it was never installed, then, or the install failed, or was improperly removed.
Try installing it fresh, from the CD's Products folder (I think).
You have to mount the CD first, and then enter the CD volume name and path into NWCONFIG - it doesn't "browse" all that well. If necessary, use a client PC to figure out the path. You'd need to find the install file for it.
I don't have a 5.1 install CD anywhere near me.
Note that if you use the CD that shipped from Novell, you'd have to re-apply the last support pack. I don't know if it's available but if you can download and burn an .iso overlay with your SP level, that would be ideal - install it from the overlay CD you burn from the .iso and you won't have to fart around with re-applying SP's.
