The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Setting up a Client to Site over VPN

Asked by ckh231 in Novell Netware Network Software

Tags: , , ,

I was helped with this question, initially by Shineon, I hope he can be the expert to continue with this setup. I now have a remote site to the host site going over two vpn routers with DSL internet. I am able to ping any windows workstation, but cannot ping my 6.5 netware server. What must I do step by step to accomplish that? Over the last 4 years we had no need to do remote processing, so I am not sure that the server is setup to allow access over a public gateway. I have 2 linksys routers in use with vpn setups

Next if after appling your answer to setup and be able to ping my server, I now want to be able to have 3 workstations at the remote site to be able to login  to the netware 6.5 server. They have windows xp home(unfortunately) but that is the cards I'm delt right now. So can you tell me step by step how to successfully acomplish this task. I did the local setup years ago, however I have never done a vpn Client to site setup via the internet. I plan to use Netware client worksation xp setup cd. The local pcs have the client setup on xp home and are doing fine. I know its best to use xp pro, however the user did not get it when they should have. I was told in march to use custom setup with certain switches set tp allow for tcpip over internet setup. Will using typical work just as well.Start Free Trial
