I want to get the workstation to register it's name in DNS so that I can ping it by name?
Any ideas? I have the "Register this connections address in DNS" option checked in TCP/IP configuration.

Got is going...
I had to create an inarpa for each of my VLans, so:
10.20.IN-ADDR.ARPA
10.30.IN-ADDR.ARPA
10.40.IN-ADDR.ARPA
10.50.IN-ADDR.ARPA
etc...
The "Control Lists" for each IN_ADDR>ARPA had "Allow Update" set to "localhost".
Then on the DHCP side, had to set the DNS Zone for Dynamic Update and Domain Name to my zone.
Also had to make the "Range Type": "Dynamic BOOTP and DHCP" with "DNS Update Option": "Always Update".

Is the NetWare box also providing DHCP? There's an option in the DHCP server to update DNS when leases are handed out.
Somewhere in the configuration of the NetWare DNS, you specify "control lists". If i recall correctly, setting this to "any" will allow the workstations to update DNS. I'm not at work, so I can't give you exact step-by-step.
