Help with Novell 6.5

I need to change the ip address on a Novell 6.5 server. Does anyone know how to do this?

kt2003,

When you say you want to change the IP address of a NetWare 6.5 server, do you mean you plan to change the host address, within the same network, or are you changing networks as well?  The answer doesn't change much, but it's nice to know.

At any rate, the answer would depend on:

1) What SP level are you at?  NW6.5 SP0 would have a different answer than NW6.5 SP9, for example, because of improvements in administrative tools over the years.
2)  Is this a single-server tree?
3)  If not, does this server hold the Organizational CA?
3A)  or the SLP DA?
4)  Are there any additional products running on this server (ZENworks, GroupWise, etc?)

In Netware 6.5, the IP address can be changed with the Netware Remote manager. If the server is installed standard, point your browser to http://server/welcome/manage.html, and from there choose IP address management or Remote Manager. From the IP address management page you can schedule an IP address change.

You need to do a few other things. Please see the following link. Also you may have to reissue certificates if you are self certifying or if you are running anything else. If you have more than one server in the tree you have to makes sure all the updates go out. And of course things get interesting when you are changing IP networks in a multi-server tree, and when you have web services, GroupWise, ZENworks, etc. in the mix.  

Which is why I asked that series of questions.

Thank you for your help. I have been told to change a Novell server ip address SP5 soon. I am not sure yet if the server is going to be in the same subnet but my guess is that is going to be on a diffrent VLAN.
