disk boot failure, insert system disk and press enter

hello experts,

after a few years xp only, i decided to try linux
i chose for Fedora Core 6
so downloaded all 6 images (cd1 trough 5 and a rescue)

installed fc to my harddisk

and directly after the setup, i reboot and get the error message "disk boot failure, insert system disk and press enter"

so i run the setup again, choose to edit the bootloader,
and then i get this message:
"No kernel packages were installed on your system
your boot loader configuration will not be changed"


why doesnt my computer boot?
