Hi,

I would like to know if anyone has configured Squirrelmail for use with a gmail account using IMAP access.

If you have not successfully configured Squirrelmail but use another phpbased web mail solution to access GMAIL via IMAP then please let me know.

I am using SquirrelMail 1.4.9a

Gmail now allows you to Enable IMAP. Once you do that, you should be able to configure a web based mail client to connect to it.

In Gmail go to Settings -> Forward and POP/IMAP. At the bottom you can enable IMAP access.

I've tested it on few different setup and worked like charm.

I was facing problem in one scenario when SELinux was turned on. HTTPD process owner (nobody, apache or lighttpd) need outbound network access (which is disabled by default in fedora and derivatives). You should find more details in /var/log/messages :-)

Fix: [root@centos ~]# setsebool httpd_can_network_connect true
