Browse All TopicsHi,
This is my first time posting here, so please correct me if my post could be better :D
I have a customer that is using a standalone Windows XP Pro SP3 PC.
The issue is that a couple of programs running under Windows are seemingly having problems recognizing the correct time and date.
The main programs that are having issue are Microsoft Outlook 2003 and MYOB Payroll 2009.9.
With Outlook the problem is only effecting the received emails.
Outlook is receiving emails via POP3 from a Server that we host, I have checked the times on the Server and the PC in question, including all regional options.
The emails that are received show in the inbox as 1 day and 5 hours before it was actually received (So sent at 3:26pm on the 21/07/09 and it shows received 8:26pm on the 20/07/09). All sent emails and the calendar have the correct time including emails received by recipients.
The other program that is also having issue MYOB Payroll 2009, has issues when payslips for the employees are processed. The time also shows the day before.
I haven't had much luck researching this issue hence why I am posting.
Thanks in advance.

Have a look at the time zone setup on your pc, and make sure it matches the time zone you live in. Outlook just read the time as it's written in the headers, and shows it in the time zone setup on the pc, so that's likely the problem. This would affect other softwares too, since some time related windows functions rely on the time zone to do their calculations.

Hi everyone, thank you for your reply.
As I mentioned above I have checked all the time and regional setting to ensure all the correct countries and times are selected, but still no luck.
Just find it strange that only the received emails are showing the incorrect time and date, the sent emails are all showing the correct time and date.
So I'm still confused on what the cause is for this.
Hi guys,
Sorry about my delayed reply.
Here is a screen shot of their Inbox. You will see my test message at the top, with the time and date sent.
I had some issues with AVG email scanner, where it was using a constant 50% CPU time. So I have uninstalled it and installed the latest version, but the problem is still there.
Thanks guys
Hi, sory when I said 'complete headers' I meant really that, the raw headers of the email. You can find them by double clicking on the email, and then choosing View->Options. We need the contents of the Internet Headers textbox. That will tell us who, if any, is screwing up the timestamps. I'd say that's our mail server that is acting strange, but we should be able to tell with the headers!
