Webmail Problem: Horde error code 535, response: Incorrect authentication data

We have a new linux server that users cPanel 11 and is running Horde. Every time that a newly composed message from Horde is sent the following error is displayed.

There was an error sending your message: authentication failure [SMTP: Invalid response code received from server (code: 535, response: Incorrect authentication data)]

Horde does accept new messages, and every other function seems to work properly.
