I have an Exchange server (2k3 Ent) that is having a bad sector on the hard disk. Ever since this, the Mailbox Store would dismounted when it couldn't read from the hard disk, and eventually, caused mail flow to halt. I'm trying to determine whether the hard drive or the controller is at fault. I'm planning to add a secondary hard drive (and 3rd one), and transfer the mail store as well as the transaction log. What I am not sure is should I be pointing to a different location in the mailstore properties, or do I have to copy the .edb, .stm, as well as the logs to these new drives.
I'm only 2 months at this job...and quite new... If you all could give me some insights to how I can do, it'll be greatly appreciated.
