Do I have also to disable the user in AD? Or once I disable account the email address will not be available any more?

Please, advise! We have a user that doesn't work in the company any longer, however I need to forward his all emails arriving to his mailbox in Exchange to another user. Besides, we have an eTrust SCM for spam filtering which is configured to allow users a possibility control spammed emails through the web interface. I need to configure it either to forward spam messages of the older user to the address of the new user. Since SCM is configured to use Active Directory accounts, i believe once I properly configure mail forwarding (or some other method) within AD it will be enough.
Thanks!

Yes, you would want to disable the account in AD so the user can no longer log in and use his company email address or domain user account for accessing any confidential information. However, once you disable it, you may start getting NDR errors when sending mail to it, in which case, implement the workaround described here: http://support.microsoft.c

You can set forwarding in Exchange by opening Active Directory Users and Computers and viewing the properties of the user account who has left the company. Go to the "Exchange General" tab, click "Delivery Options". In the Forwarding address section, select the "Forward To" option and press Modify. Enter the name of the user to forward the mails to, press OK.
If you wish, you can check the box regarding delivering messages to both forwarding address and mailbox, I'm sure that's pretty self explanatory!
Hope this helps
