Exchange cluster SMTP connection errors

Asked by aksealife in Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP), Exchange Email Server, Email Servers

We have Exchange 2003 sp1 installed on and active/passive cluster (Otter1 and Otter2), running on server 2003 sp1.  Recently our domain was blacklisted, but since has been removed from all lists.  Currently i can run on Otter2 and all SMTP traffic goes out and does not back up in the ques in system manager.  however, the moment that i switch back to Otter1 all SMTP traffice fails to connect and the ques slowly begin to grow.  In system manager i see the message "The connection was dropped due to an SMTP protocal event sink."  We were running GFI MailEssentials Antispam, but that was unistalled when we started having SMTP issues.  I am once again at the feet of the experts, please help.Start Free Trial
