Enabling Recipient Filtering at the backend exchange server

Dear,
We have IIS installed on windows 2003 server acts as our SMTP gateway, also Antigen 9.0 installed on this same machine.
messages are routed from the SMTP gateway to our backend exchange server (exchange 2003), my question is will I get any benefit if enabling the recipient filtering at this backend exchange server, since we have a lot of NDR displayed on the SMTP queues?

Probably you will not notice any increase of security performance.
But I think too much security is not enough so is for you to decide to activate or not, but in my opinion you should.
I have mine activated

Thanks for your response, but as you know I have read microsft articles like the below:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/909005  which states that: After you enable recipient filtering, Exchange Server validates the e-mail address before Exchange Server accepts the e-mail message. In this scenario, if no match for this e-mail alias appears in Active Directory, an NDR is still generated. However, in this scenario, it is the responsibility of the sending SMTP server instead of the Exchange Server  to generate and to deliver the NDR.
  so in our case the NDR will be delivered to our SMTP (IIS) server, so you will not get that benefit.

I am not looking to disable the whole NDR fetaure at exchange level my friend.

I will deploy exchange front end and apply the filters, this will solve the problem.
