Guys, im setting up some anti-spam solution on a server 2003 box in DMZ running IIS v6.0 with the SMTP component installed & then relay to an internal exchange 2003 box on corporate lan.
I just want to be clear about the retry periods and queue holding time.
1) Can someone tell me what the difference is between Outbound & Local expiration timeout?
2) Do the "outbound" retry periods actually affect mail flow in both directions... so if the exchange on the corporate lan was down it would retry after 15mins (default) and the same being if the internet link was down it would retry delivery to the 3rd part mail server after 15mins?
