mail cannot be delivered to a single user's mailbox

I have one user that cannot get mail delivered to their inbox. All others work fine. This is what I've tried, I'm just getting started with 2007, so maybe there is something I missed early on.

get-recipient 'tim smith'  Name Tim Smith    Recipeint type Usermailbox
get-mailbox 'tim smith' name Tim Smith alias tsmith
I check this against my settings and they seem to be the same.
The box isn't disconnected, any help will be appreciated
