FTP link from Email client/Outlook to Windows Explorer

Hi,

We're trying to send an easy to use email out with links to our ftp server. Currently we're using this format:

ftp://username:password@ftp.our-domain.com

Clicking this opens the link in IE. As the intention is to make uploading to us easier, ideally we would like the link to open in windows explorer. Is this possible to do direct from an email?

Also, when in IE they select Page > Open FTP Site in Windows Explorer the username and password don't get passed along a message pops up saying unable to connect, connection reset.
