funtaff, won't that give me that IP of the computer I'm using? The problem is that FreeNAS doesn't have a browser. It's just a Unix based system. Can I just connect my laptop temporarily to the same ethernet cable just to get the IP address?
As far as my router I'm using a Linksys WRT54GL with the Tomato firmware. I guess I can figure out how to do the port forwarding on it with some general instructions.
Thanks.

Sure, first of all you can check your IP by going to http://checkip.dyndns.com/ - that will list your public facing IP.
As for port forwarding on the router, which router do you have? Basically you tell it to forward port 21 to port 21 on your machine's internal IP.
