I've recently inherited responsibility for this box so I dont know its history, but I find these smnp errors going back till the last log rollover (Feb07). There is little information I can find on MS or EE, so any help is appreciated.

Yes, it's set to the following [info in brackets is sensitvie]:
General: Autostart
Log On: logon as System Acct
Recovery: none, none, none
Agent > Service: Applications, Internet, End-to-end
Traps> Community name: [our local community name]
Traps> Trap destinations: [three netbios names iaw company policy]
Security> Send Authentication trap: two entries [iaw company policy]
Security>Accept SNMP packets from any host: enabled per policy
Everything looks good. I do see another entry in the Application log that corresponds:
Source: Application Error
Event ID: 1004
Reporting queued error: faulting application snmp.exe, version 5.2.3790.2837, faulting module kernel32.dll, version 5.2.3790.2756, fault address 0x00015e02.
I'll see if I can follow up on that as well.
It turned out to be the SNMP module of BrightStor interfering with the SNMP service.
It can be (sort of) cured by deleting BrightStor's registry entries in Basic\SNMP, but every time the BrightStor service is restarted it rewrites those registry entries.
Full points to anyone that can tell me a 'clean' way to fix this... (non-clean=scripts/utils to delete the keys)

I did find out that the previous admin recently uninstalled and reinstalled both SNMP and OS service pack.
