How to avoid restart apache web server when renew certificate

Is there a  need to restart apache web server when renew the certificate? If it is required, is there any way to avoid this?

Make your changes then make sure everything is OK by running:
apachectl configtest

Then use:
apachectl graceful

That should reload everything without aborting any current activity on the server.
