Securing websites

Asked by StrategicGnomer in Windows 2000 Server, Encryption for Network Security, Secure Socket Layer (SSL) & HTTPS

So I have my website connecting to my faux database now and I'm trying to figure out how to secure it. From the DB server to the webserver is secured, but when logging in to the database online, it's only http and thus no encryption. How does that whole https thing work and how can I set it up? My webserver is running windows 2000 server.Start Free Trial
