I know all aobut IP address and subnet masks t oan extent but i was curious if this hypothesis is correct before i try it. I run a small network at a private school in houston currently we are running a class c network with 192.168.1.y with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 which gives us 254 ip address. I was wondering if i change the subnet mask to 255.255.0.0 would i increase my ip address and whould it work or should i go to a class b network which i don't know the ip address range for that. I run a flat network and no subnets and would liek to keep it that way to prevent any confusion. Any help or suggestions would be greatly aprpeciated. Our DHCP is ran by our netscreen firewall. but i run windows 2003 servers
