How Do I Expand My DHCP Address range?

Asked by ridgeang in Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Windows 2003 Server, Network Operations

Tags: dhcp, range, address, expand

Due to expansion our DHCP server is out of IP addresses to assign. Our current address pool is 10.0.0.20 - 10.0.0.240, and when I display statistics 221 of the 221 available addresses are in use. I need to expand the address pool, but am not sure of how to go about doing this. I have read some of the posts about the superscope, and have set up a supoerscope, but when I try to add a new scope using 10.0.1.0 as a start and 10.0.0.1.255 as the end, the DHCP gives me an error "The address range and mask conflict with an existing scope". What might be my issue here?Start Free Trial
