Yes, the laptop did pick up an IP address.
I am pretty sure that I can rule out the configuration of the hubs and switches in the LAN environment because this solution has been working happily with RIS for the last couple of years and I have confirmed that no changes have been made at the network level.
I do not have option 60 available in the DHCP server options. I thought option 60 was for solutions where the DHCP was co-resident with the WDS server, but I may well be wrong.
I have tried again today, and I am getting the following error:
PXE-E51: No DHCP or proxyDHCP offers were received.

Do you witness onscreen if they actually get an address?
If not, ensure your switch have PortFast enabled.
Otherwise, make sure Option 60 is set on the DHCP scope or server.
