How to block IP address assignment via MAC address

I need to block a particular machine from accessing my network. I have the machine name and mac address on dhcp. Problem is that the machine just needs to connect to any network outlet and the dhcp server will lease an ip to that machine as is expected. Is there any way to block IP assignment to a specific machine?

Under reservations, you assign to it an invalid IP address.

To assign it an invalid ip i keep getting the message 'the specified dhcp client is not a reserved client', what gives?

You can only reserve an IP that is in the same scope. Creat a new scope and give it access to nothing. Reserve an IP for the MAC address in that scope.
