Browse All TopicsOur SonicWall TZ170 (Standard software) Global VPN client has become increasingly temperamental (reporting as being connected but offering no access to the server, or being stuck on acquiring IP) and I have been advised by SW support to set up a static DHCP server on the firewall.
Enabling DHCP on the SW resulted in the DHCP service on my SBS 2003 server stopping immediately. However, the assigned/set aside IP range on the SBS only goes up 10.0.125, with 254 reserved for the server, so there is plenty of room to avoid an IP conflict (I only have to assign around 20 static IPs in the SW).
Any suggestions on how to avoid this conflict would be very much appreciated.
Regards, PHILIP

Not a good idea to run a seperate DHCP. I would suggest relay DHCP through the Firewall onto your DHCP server.
