we are wondering if there is an application which can do the following.
we require to secure our DHCP so that when a users computer requests an IP the DHCP server should query AD to see where their computer is located. if it is located in an OU then an IP is provided. if they are in a workgroup (not in AD) their request is denied.
we are running win 2003 servers with XP clients. we have 400+ laptops and 350 desktops. we want to disallow any casual machines from using any resource on the network if they havent been via IT.
AD authentication wont work as they can just put in their domain credentials.
mac filtering wont be great as it would require alot of effert to keep the DB upto date.
anyone got any otehr suggestions?
