I am in a situation where the IT is quite fragmented and largely decentralized throughout the globe.
My CAD licencing software requires a static IP. The local network is not exactly without packet losses (typical of a construction site environment) but it works for the most part. The fellows in Malaysia have set the DHCP to reserve an IP address for my machine and the screen shot seems to show the DNS path is correct. The problem is that the IP Address will not push through to my box and no one seems to know what the issue is. My attempts at manually setting the IP Address have resulted in no mapped drive (network) or internet access and a profoundly degraded performance of anything related to MS Explorer file system manager. This is an XP box. How do I get the DHCP and my system to talk from either end to confirm the static IP. I hope I have explained it intelligibly..by the way I am located in Edmonton.
