On the DHCP settings you have to setup the DNS settings to be pushed out to the pc's.
THe pcs should all point to the server.
In the DNS settings you have to set the forwarder to be the ISP DNS IP addresses.

Browse All TopicsHI, I have setup a new server and its running DNS & DHCP all is fine on the server i can get internet but not on any pcs now joined and connected, If I set Manual Dns on the Pcs to the DNS provided by my ISP i get the internet OK.
If I do a ipconfig /all I notice there is no DNS Server line yet at my other place of work on a working PC I do get a DNS server line when I do IPCONFIG /ALL
ANY IDEAs what I am doing wrong ?
SERVER
Server ip = 192.168.1.1
Sub = 255.255.255.0
Gate: 192.168.1.254
Dns1 = 194.72.9.38
Dns2 = 62.6.40.162
PC
IP= 192.168.1.70 (from DHCP)
Sub = 255.255.255.0
Gate: 192.168.1.254

it would seem as though your DHCP server is not handing out DNS servers with the ip, sub, and gateway. Thats why it works when you put it in manually...DHCP just isnt giving out DNS server infor to the PC clients.

I assume you are using windows server 2003? this article shows step by step what you should do to setup DHCP. the important part in your case right now is the options....
