HI There! One of clients has tasked me with a lame project which is going to require some strategy. This client currently has a site that has 2 2000 DNS AD Servers, 2 (One 2000 One 2003) Exchange servers, and a myriad other network servers which handle different db type services. They had a tech who configured everything with a public network IP address (they have a class C) and as such there is no NATing occuring, just an active firewall. For security and extension reasons we need to move all this business to a private scheme and I am trying to figure out the best strategy. From a gateway, client standpoint I got it all figured out. What worries me is how I deal with adjusting the IP of the AD, DNS, and Exchange system without everything falling to pieces. What IP should I change first? Should I add the external IP it is currently assigned as a seconday IP so it will still "listen" on that IP for the transition period? I assume I would first adjust the IP of the two DNS servers to be internal, then change the IP and primary DNS of the Exchange server. How then doe the AD records in the DNS get updated to reflect the new location?
THanks!
Ed
