DNS records on DNS server - server 2003 ent edition

Hi all
At the moment I am running two DNS servers on my location and one at the subnet location.  Recently I started using netflow which provides me the bandwidth and speed data for my network.  All IP information is fine but when I click resolve DNS, the names it gives me are all old ones.  So I opened up my DNS and I could see many old records, I think my DNS needs some tunning.  If I right click over my dns server I can see the option of 'Scavange stale records' will that help?  Also if I select this option will it delete the records of my servers as well?  Is there any other option by doing which my DNS records provide me actual records?
