DNS - setting up another subdomain

Asked by derekkromm in Domain Name Service (DNS), Microsoft IIS Web Server

Tags: DNS IIS domain sub sub-domain subdomain

Our main website and domain are hosted by our ISP. Lets call our domain mydomain.com

In the DNS configuration on the ISP, we have an A record pointing to our internal server for mail.mydomain.com at a different IP address.

On our internal server, we have DNS setup such that our NS and FQDN are mail.swirnow.com.

I have just added another A record on the ISP's end for webmail.mydomain.com, same way the mail.mydomain.com is setup. However, its not forwarding correctly to our website. The IP resolves correctly, so it must be something on our local DNS setup? Ideas? Perhaps its an IIS config?
