Can't access any .co.uk sites from our Windows network.

I'm having a strange DNS problem - our server (along with every computer on the network) is unable to resolve .co.uk internet addresses for some reason.  I'm not too familiar with DNS management.  We are running Windows Small Business Server 2008.  Any ideas about where I can look?

All I know is that nslookup from the server to any .co.uk site returns a "Server Failed" while any other site I've tried works fine.

There's a bug in Windows 2008 DNS that does this. A work-around is discussed here:

http://blogs.technet.com/sbs/archive/2009/01/29/cannot-resolve-names-in-certain-top-level-domains-like-co-uk.aspx

You might consider configuring Forwarders for your DNS server, that work-around works reliably.

Anyway, you're far from alone in this, I wish MS would get a move on and fix it...

Nice!  That WOULD explain it!  Phew.  Thanks!
So then the freshman DNS manager question is... how do I configure forwarders?  I mean, I found the place to do it easily enough :)  But where do I get the data?  And also, should I disable root hints entirely to solve this problem then?

here is a step by step for 2003, I'm sure 2008 is relatively the same...

You will see the forwarding directions near the bottom of the page (last section).
oh btw - Chris-Dent mentioned you should be able to get the DNS forwarder form your ISP, which is correct.

Got the DNS servers form Qwest.  Piece of cake!  Thanks for the help :)
