Download Zone File

We are in a pinch here, we have a host provider that does not understand DNS.  We took over supporting a client and need to get all records that are on the DNS Servers hosted by a third party.  Does anyone know how I can pull all records in the zone easily before the host provider loses their mind and destroys the zone file?

Most likely, you will have to do the manual method as they (hopefully) don't allow open zone transfers.

Find out from the client what host names they use (smtp, pop, ftp, www, webmail, etc) and get the address or cname records for those hosts.

If they use https, you will need a public certificate, too.
can you please close and assign points to this question if you have finished please.

Cheers

Normally, host providers help each other and send the zone file to the new host provider, but only if you request it.
Sometimes dig doesn't always work and you miss some records, that's why it is best to have access to the original zone file.
