Browse All TopicsIn order to become PCI compliant we have move our reseller website from a Hsphere service account on a shared server to a Plesk VPS server.
We have a number of customers on the H-Sphere servers that use our resellerdomain.net NS...NS4 name servers.
I figured I could add NS5 and NS6 to resellerdomain, net at registrar and point them to the VPS and all would be well when I moved this domain from the H-Sphere server.
I now have all of the pages uploaded to the VPS and have copied the MSSQL database to the VPS, but now the mail server has become unreachable on the Hsphere server I also have a resellerdomain.com that I am not currently using. I did not know if I could use this to point to the dedicated IP addresses to the VPS? Or I need to create some custom DNS? I am not very experienced so I would appreciate some step by step instructions on this one.
As I said earlier I need to keep the first four nameservers pointing to the HSphere so no one's websites go down.
Thank you in advance for any assistance in this matter

I'm not sure I understand the problem, but I think you only need to update the domains that you want using the new Name servers. For example, if Mydomain.com is configured at Godaddy to use NS1 & NS2 - and you need it to use NS5 & NS6 - just login to the Godaddy (or other registrar) and change the DNS servers to the new DNS servers.
Use the free website www.intodns.com to check your configuration on the root domain servers (not cached) for the domains.
