Changing domain suffix .local to .org

Tags: Microsoft, Windows, 2003, Active Directory
Managing a large Windows 2003 network (20 servers, 2000 XP and W2K stations)... Education environment. Has anybody had luck, or should I rephrase that - changing DNS domain suffix? We want to go from .local to .org for various (email) reasons. DNS is running on 2  2K3 Servers (domain controllers); one of them is DHCP as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
