Internet Explorer Automatic Configuration Script Definition via Registry

Asked by cholmskov in Internet Explorer Web Browser

My "problem" is simple, yet I can't seem to find an adequet way to search for it or the solution just eludes me, that or it's not possible.

I have recently been asked to change the proxy setting for the company I work in, or rather to test a new set of Proxy settings.

Unfortunately unlike the old Proxy which was just defined and given some exceptions, this is done with the Automatic Configuration Script option in IE.

Now I know how to define a proxy server / exceptions via a registry script, but here is what I need now.

I need a script or something that is easy to deliver to our users that will change the following.

1: Tick off the "Use Automatic Configuration Script" box in IE, and also make sure nothing else is ticked off.
2: Enter a line in the "Address" field for the Automatic Conf Script
3: Do this in a single click on a script file or similar.

Possible problems.
1: The users are NOT local administrators and they cannot be given to them
2: The users are spread over a total of 7 countries, so it must be something small that can be in a mail, like a registry script
3: The users cannot see the tab called Connections in I.E, so once again this must be something that will change this field automatically.

I hope you can help me here at Experts Exchange.

Thanks in advance
