Hi Everyone;

        I am wanting to help a friend with serious error message at the XP Pro SP2 desktop screen.  The exact message of this discerning message reads as follows:  Warning: Spyware threat has been detected on your pc.  Your computer has several fatal errors due to spyware activity.  It is strongly recommended to install an antispyware software to close all security vulnerabilities.  Antispyware software helps protect your PC against spyware and other security threats.  Additionally, there is a link which appears below this message which reads as follows: Click Here To Scan Your PC For Spyware.  
Realizing this message suddenly appeared, I advised that the link not be lauched because it could be part of the spyware problem on this pc.  

       Any shared input, guidance, and assistance regarding this security concern on this laptop will be appreciated.  The operating system on this laptop is XP Pro SP2.   If any hardware specs are needed, please feel free to let me know and they will be submitted upon request.
