The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Port Blocking Rule _ MCafee Viruscan Enterprise 8.5.0.i _ How to Unblock?

Asked by unrinoceronte in McAfee Anti-Virus Software, Enterprise Anti-Virus, Peer to Peer

Hi i need to know how to allow one port on my internet connection for a P2P program to work well (utorrent) I have done the portforwarding on my router, and on XP Windows Firewall, but now my big trouble is that MCAFEE is blocking the ports by a "PORT BLOCKING RULE" which i dont know how to unblock..

I have checked all the Viruscan Console Tabs to look for an option where these rules are, but i have not found them yet.. i think they are by default or something.

Does someone know how can i unblock these rules, change them, or allow the port i want in Mcafee Viruscan  Enterprise 8.5?

I am attaching the Mcafee Access Protection Log so you can see what i am talking about. (Can someone tell me what does the last 4 digits (numbers) in each line mean? are those the ports that are blocked? If they are, is extrange because i have setr a fixed port on Utorrent and it is not any of those numbers)

My PC is:
Windows XP Pro SP2
AMD 64X2 5600+
I am on a home network LAN where:
- I have control of the LAN, i am the Administrator.
- I connect to the internet via a combined Cable Modem + Router + Switch
a: Cable Modem - MOTOROLA SurfBoard Cable Modem Model SB5120
b: Router- LINKSYS WRT54GS firmware version v7.50.0
c: Switch- ENCORE ENH908-NWY+ 8 ports Nway Switch
