Netgear Router Setup

I got a Netgear Wireless / Router WPN824 Range MAX Wireless Router.   I am hooking the router up to use as a wireless hub for a tablet PC.   Here is the issue.  HOW DO I -   Hook the router to be on the same Subnet as the internal LAN so the Wireless Tablet can access the server on the other side of the router.

The internal LAN is 192.168.1.XXX

How do I get the router and wireless router to be on the same subnet..  I know normally know you have to put the router on different subnet etc...

Like I said I want the tablet to be able to access server resources and data which is IP  192.168.1.10 etc

Help

Not sure on that specific model, but you should be able to turn off the DHCP and then assign it the same subnet. What happens when you try that?

no there is not internet access invloved  just want a tablet pc which is wirless to be able to communicate thru the wireless router and all be on the same subnet....    the part in all this I dont understand is..

If the wireless router/access point is in the default state with the Configuration Assistant running, disable it:
Select Start > Run, and type http://www.routerlogin.com/CA_HiddenPage.htm

how to I put the url in the router is start -- run on the PC I am using to connect it too?????

you don't have to have internet access for any of this to work... that is understood.

If you connect 1 PC or laptop to the Netgear router, the default settings of the Netgear will assign an IP address in the subnet of the router.  If you open IE and go to any page, it will auto redirect to www.routerlogin.com (this is actually the netgear)

This will initiate the router setup wizard.  You can also bypass the wizard. Try going to http://www.routerlogin.com/basicsetting.htm
wpn824 has a trick to it

-the wireless part of the router would not turn on until the router detects an ip address on the wan port
-u would notice that the wireless lights on the router are off and they would be so if its not connected to anything on the internet port
use the following steps

-hook up power to the router
-hook up a comp to any 1 of the 4 ports that lie 2gether or the lan ports at the back of the router
-when u do that 1 of the lan lights or the number lights will light up.
-reset the router by pressing the reset buttn at the back of the router for 40 seconds
-turn off an turn on the router
-give it a min to settle down and open an ie page on the comp
-at the address bar remove watevers there and type http://www.routerlogin.com/basicsetting.htm
-go to basic settings
-chose to use the static ip address
-ip address 192.168.100.20
-submask   255.255.255.0
-dgateway 192.168.100.1
-chose use the following dns servers
  primary dns  4.2.2.2
 secondary  4.2.2.3
-hit apply
-u will notice the wireless lights come on
-another screen wud come up on the comp asking for username and passwrd
usrename-  admin
passwrd-  password
-back to basic settings
-left scroll to bottom and logout
-connect the server to any of the available 3 lan ports
- try ping server ip from comp.
if success                        if not success
-disconnect comp           -check for firewalls on comp
-connect wirelessly to     -go mad
netgear ssid
-go mad
let us know if your problems resolved and if so how??
